Biosketch
Vaishali Saini obtained her Master’s degree in Molecular and Human Genetics from Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi, India). During this period, she also completed short-term internships on Drosophila handling and Mycobacterium culture. Her Master’s thesis focused on investigating exosomal biomarkers across different subtypes of breast and ovarian cancer tissues. After completing her Master’s degree in 2022, she joined Indian Institute of Technology Indore as a doctoral student. Her doctoral research focuses on gut dysbiosis induced by bacterial-viral coinfection and its role in modulating synaptic plasticity through the gut-brain axis. In September 2025, she joined the MDV team in France as part of the Indo-French doctoral exchange program for six months, where she is studying the consequences of coinfection-induced gut-brain axis disruption using brain organoid models.
