IRIM IS ONE OF THE 80 WINNERS OF PRIME80, AN CNRS INTERDISCIPLINARY CALL TO CELEBRATE ITS 80TH ANNIVERSARY

The Membrane Domains and Viral Assembly team (D. Muriaux / C. Favard) is leading a collaborative project with the CONCEPT

(A. Lereu / C. Amra) and RCMO (F. Lemarchand / J. Lumeau) teams from the Institute Fresnel (UMR 7249 CNRS , Ecole Centrale Marseille, Aix Marseille University) focused on the development of a new-technology to visualize and quantify at the nanoscale and a sub-millisecond range, the assembly of viruses to the plasma membrane of their host cells, by following it molecules after molecules. This technology is based on specific and biocompatible thin film deposits used to exalt the excitation field in evanescent microscopy (enhanced TIRF microscopy).
