Biographie
Gaia Cogrossi got her bachelor degree in Biotechnology in 2020 at Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy) with a thesis about neutralization assays. She then enrolled in the Master’s course in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies at the same university. For her Master’s thesis project, in 2022 she spent six months in Milan working on SARS-CoV-2 and potential antivirals, and six months at IRIM in the MDV team, as an Erasmus student, working on antivirals against different coronaviruses.
After obtaining her Master’s degree, she rejoined the MDV team first as an IE and later as a PhD student. She is currently working on two projects about the mode of action of a novel antiviral molecule against SARS-CoV-2 and the effect of saliva composition on the transmission of respiratory viruses.
