Almeida Glaucia Maria
Position
Post-doctoral researcher
Biosketch
Glaucia obtained her Master’s degree (2020) and Ph.D. (2025) in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (Brazil). During her Ph.D., she investigated the cellular and molecular alterations induced by Oropouche virus and SARS-CoV-2 in the human brain, primarily using free-floating adult human brain slice cultures as an experimental model. As part of her doctoral training, she completed a six-month research internship at the University of Michigan (USA), where she applied advanced microscopy approaches, including expansion microscopy, to further elucidate the molecular impact of Oropouche virus on human brain cells. After completing her Ph.D., she moved to France to join the MDV team as a postdoctoral researcher. Her current work focuses on elucidating the molecular alterations induced by viral neuroinfections using single-cell spatial proteomics approaches.
Outside the lab, Glaucia enjoys playing and watching football, as well as following other sports. She also loves visiting coffee shops and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
