Since 2017, the UM’s I-SITE excellence programme has supported research to the tune of €20.8M. With €3.8M, the call for projects for Research Support 2022 will allow the funding of 35 projects out of the 80 proposed.
18 projects were selected in the “ERC Springboard” category, including Caroline Goujon’s project, “Investigating Virus-Host Interplay in Human Primary Models of Genetically Modified Respiratory Epithelium”. 8 projects were selected in the “Innovation Accelerator” category, including that of Nathalie Arhel, “New antiviral compounds targeting the viral capsid and acting as inhibitors of HIV-1 nuclear import”. IRIM had not submitted an application in the third category, “Equipment for research”.
